Advice about hidden profiles

For the past 3 weeks I’ve been talking to a guy via text and phone but he lives in a different state and we have not met yet. We were supposed to meet and he needed to reschedule due to some family issues. I was concerned he was blowing me off and he said he would not have invested so much time with me if he wasn’t interested. We have had a great connection it seems like and have agreed to be upfront with each other. He is making plans to meet in the next three weeks. He has a difficult schedule.
I see him active on the dating website often. However, today he hid his profile. I know he didn’t hide it for me so I’m wondering what’s going on. I texted him and he did answer but he had a lot going on and seemed to be in a bad mood and said he would text later.
I’m very much wondering why he hid his profile. Hiding a profile only means that others can’t see you, but I believe you can still reach out to others when the profile is hidden.
Should I tell him I noticed his profile is hidden and ask him why he hid it?

You should ditch him and find someone locally. If you have to be suspicious and confront someone you are not even dating....you are losing yourself respect and over investing needlessly.

Over the last few weeks I have been coming to the conclusion that "online dating" is one of the most destructive things to come along that destroys people's ability (and desire) to properly interact with other people. For people who lack impulse control and maturity it is like turning loose a sugar addict in a candy store. People think they are madly in love with a "profile" and plan to meet, and before the words are out of their mouth (actually just typed on the screen) they are already looking at the next "hot" profile that just contacted them. You have never met the guy, he is just "words on a computer screen" or words in a text message. Go meet real people in real places,...have a social life,...meet people in a more productive way via your social life.
