  • Why does taking things slow make me nervous?

I’m in a new relationship with someone (2.5 weeks) we make time for eachother but things were kind of going too fast, so we eased up a little. There’s other priorities work, friends, family and we’re still getting to know about each other. My past relationships have gone TOO fast...moving in together too soon, etc. So this is new for me. I’m feeling very nervous and he has tried to ease it but I can’t help it. Can anyone relate?

I think it's the way you have viewed relationship to be in the past. You have never taken things slow in your past relationship, so this is something new for you hence you are nervous. All you need to do is to reprogram your mind.

Taking things slow has always been the best way to build a strong and lasting relationship. So, since this is new for you, you need to learn it and master it. Also, ignore you nervousness because it's just your mind playing trick on you.

Lifestyle changes make any normal person nervous since unfamiliar how to interpret the changes. you have the option of learning new ways or moving on to someone who reacts in the way you are accustomed to. i have always benefited from knowing a wider range of lifestyles mingling with others and braving out handling something different as an opportunity to expand my intelligence.
