  • Drinking and partying in foreign countries. Is it okay?

I’ve had mixed opinions from my friends whether it’s okay to drink and party while staying in foreign countries for vacation. They said I might get ripped off easily if I’m not sober. One friend said that he was charged double by his cab driver. The other has had to pay for another table’s tab. It’s quite unfortunate really.
Although, there were some who said that partying and drinking with the locals of the foreign country took their experience to another level. They said it was fun and it helps you make friends with people easily. Now I don’t know who to believe. What’s your opinion about this, guys?

Just do your research on wherever you're going before hand. Read travel blogs. Get an idea of what is normal to pay for a meal, a drink, a cab ride. You can find all this out prior to your trip, then just don't get so wasted that you make dumb choices.
    Be smart, but have fun.
I party when I travel, as a solo female, and haven't had anything bad happen. But I also make sure I'm in a safe neighbourhood, know how to get home, and know the value of the local currency.

If you want to drink and party in a foreign country, then be prepared to spend lots of money. What is more important is the fun and memory. So, don't be scared of spending money.

Yes, you will make lots of friends if you party in a foreign country. That should be your goal, to make friends and meet new people.

That's true. My friend tried attending a singles tour and he drank more than he could manage. Nothing bad happened to him and he was well taken cared of even when getting drunk in a different country. I guess when you signed up for an agency, you wouldn't have to worry bout these type of things. If I decide to travel solo, I might have to jot down more tips and guides if I want to enjoy and party abroad. Thanks for the tip!

I'm pretty stingy with money but I guess when I'm in the moment, money wouldn't matter as long as I'm having fun!
