In love with my friend

Been friend with this girl for a year. Always had a thing for her, and she have given me good singnal too. One night we had some drinks with friends, I stayd after the rest had left. One thing led to another and we ended up making out. In the aftermath i have told her of how i feel, and shd respond by saying she regrets the hole thing. Now she won’t meet with me, and say she needs time. Have no idea how to handel this ? Why did she kiss me ? I have not contacted her after she told me she needed time. Is she gone for me ??
Have no idea what my next move should be
just wait and see if i hear from her ? Make contact after some time ? Give up and try to forget ?

I do give her time and space
but it’s a question how much time before i should consider my options
if i stay waiting for her I might just dig my rabbit hole even deeper.

not heard a single word from her, so i sendt her a tekst but not waiting anything back
than two dàys later she text me back, with all she had been upto in the weeken and how she saw the coming week
that leaves me with 2 questions
hwy wait for two days befor writing me back ?
and why is she telling me all she did in the weekend ?

sent 2 messages last two weeks
just a good day and how are you doing , all well.
she answered both, but just with have a good day, not giving any answer to how things are going.
so it seems to me she is cutting me more or less off
might be best to give her up, forget and move on.
this also will loose me the friendship I guess
