Why does ex gf get extremly upset when asked if we have started to date again?

Was recently told that my ex girlfriend got extremely upset and almost got in a fight at a bar with a girl how just said that she had seen me and my ex together and was wondering if we had started dating again. Don’t really understand why she got so upset, since she is the one that only want to be friends, she simply could have said that we are just friends.

She might not be upset because she's seen with you, but might be upset because of the manner in which the girl said it. So, don't bother yourself too much about that.

You ex girlfriend has no problem with you, but has problem with the girl who said that to her. The girl might have an intention for saying that to her, she knew her intentions hence she got into a fight with her.
