  • Does her history matter in the relationship?

Hey there. I'll try to make the story short.

Me and my gf are in a relationship 8 months now. We know each other from 10 years ago. We didn't really keep in touch too much as the time past.

We have a 8 month relationship that goes really well and we live together in my apartment.

    I'm 27, she is almost 33.

I work as a web developer, she does video chat at a studio. (she doesn't show much. only feet and sometimes her boobs. :-) )

I'm open minded so I never minded the video chat stuff because I know no one touches her and the cash is pretty good.(in the last year she mentioned a couple of times she wants to change jobs to something normal).

Anyway...a few years ago she lived in germany for around 2 years. She told me about what she did there. Mostly regular jobs in gift shops and restaurants and a period of doing nothing(her ex was a douche...didn't let her out of the house and stuff). After germany she went to Switzerland for a time, but she didn't told me any details and I didn't ask for.

Now comes the interesting part. :-)

A few days ago, just found out by mistake that she worked in a brothel. Her facebook was left open on my laptop and like never before, I looked in her messages(I know its a douche move, but it was the first time I was tempted to read her messages ). Her facebook is open on my laptop all the time, but this was the first time I was that curious.

Anyway, I saw a message exchange with a guy from years 2 years ago.(they didn't talk until then, the guy said hi, she didn't responded, so after 3 scrolls up I allready saw the discussion). She told him what she did, with details, how many guys a day, stuff like that. The discussion was pretty short, but with a lot of details. Her "working" period there was pretty short I think...

I always suspected something, but I never asked and didn't open the subject. I thought maybe she was to ashamed to say something or maybe she never did any funky stuff.

    So:
Girls: what do you think? should I brake the relationship? I really love her, but I'm thinking this kind of stuff can come back and bite me or her in the ass. So maybe its better to stop it now before it gets more serious.
Guys: What would you do? :-)

Thanks in advance for your time and advice/opinions.

Her past is in the past, so let the past remain in the past. Her past shouldn't determine if you should continue in a relationship with her.

I will suggest you tell her about what you saw on her Facebook message. After telling her observe to see her reaction. If she is remorseful and agrees to it, then she has changed. If she does otherwise, it's sure she might go back to who she was and so it's better you quit the relationship.

Well, you should own up to the fact that you invaded her privacy.
That wasn`t cool of you. You owe her an apology. Expect her to be upset that you violated her trust like that.
But if you two are in love, likely she will get over that if you apologize and promise it will never happen again. But the fact is that YOU did something wrong in the relationship, not her. The actions she did that you have issues with were outside of your relationship, you`re the only person here to voided the relationship agreement to trust and respect each other.

So yes, talk to her about your concerns about her past, but don`t forget for a moment that you are the one who fucked up here. You have a right to ask her about her past, and to voice your concerns, but she also has the right to feel betrayed and pissed off that you snooped through her past conversations.

that is her private past that you should have never pirated it illegally. if you love her what her past life was should be of no concern. i suggest you DO NOT tell her about invading her privacy in such a terrible sneaky manner. i feel confident she will dump you immediately if publish your invasion to her.

you can't handle her past then break up with her. you will be doing her a favor.
