  • BF still emotional about his divorce

I have just moved in with my BF after dating for about a year. We are older, early 50's, but young for our ages. He has been divorced for 5 years. His wife moved on after 26 years of marriage with someone else and this was painful for the family (he has 2 sons in their 20's). I love him but I am very worried about his emotional state. Each time we are talking about his divorce or watching a movie with the topic of divorce he starts crying. I have asked if he was "over" his ex and the divorce and he said yes I am. I do find this hard to believe due to witnessing his emotions. We even talked about this before I moved in. Another issue is happening in the bedroom, he has a low sex drive and when we do have sex he satisfies me but he can never ejaculate. When we were earlier on in our relationship I asked him why he couldn't and he said it's just a matter of trust and it will get better. It hasn;t gotten better so far and when I asked him about it again and he said it's because he got used to masturbating while he lived by himself. I am so confused with everything! I long for a trusting, loving, emotional and physical relationship and feel closeness. I think he is trying but I'm not convinced he can ever get past his divorce and over his ex. I feel sad. Any thoughts?

He probably might have gotten over his ex but haven't gotten over the pain. I'm sure his ex wife really hurt him, so he's finding it difficult to get over the painful act of his ex wife but has gotten over her.

I think he has gotten over his ex wife but still feeling hurt. If he hasn't gotten over her, then there is no way he's going to fall in love with you. The only way he can get over the hurt feelings from the past is when you shower him with lots of kindness and love.

As for him not ejaculating during sex, there is a probability that he takes drugs before sex. Hence those drugs prevent him from ejaculating. Otherwise, it's not possible for a man not to ejaculate during sex. In fact, it's a must for a man to ejaculate, and most times do so quicker than the woman expect. That is why most men take drugs just to be able to satisfy the woman.
