Met a girl through a friend and we instantly clicked that it felt unreal. We would text it seemed every second of the day, and looking back through the texts sometimes it seems we did. Got to the point she introduced me to her kids and friends and she told me how much everyone liked me. She even did something that I thought was impossible and that was she got me involved with church once again. I told her how I was scared to open myself up, and she said the same things I did. She was worried about being given up on, not good enough, and that she has a lot of baggage, but we both do.
Anyway everything was going perfect and it was as if in a split second when I left her house one night she told me she was not ready for a serious relationship right now. To say I was devastated in an understatement. We both had opened up to each other but now she has closed up, due to I guess just being afraid. I can understand sort of. She was married for 18 years and just ended a three year relationship this past December when she found out the guy she was with had been cheating on her the entire three years. I cannot imagine how bad that affects someones self esteem.
All of this is within a 6 month time frame. We still see each other through church and we were texting all the time, but it seems or I hope that as soon as she starts to open up a little she closes down again. For example, we had a four hour talk through text one night just casual chatting , but the very next day or after she went back in to a little as contact mode again, and that is where we are now. I am in total love with everything about this woman including all her flaws, and because I guess we are so much a like it is crazy. She is not even my "type", but her personality and who she is has just blown me away.
I have dated since we stopped, but she has got me and I do not know what to do. I am trying to give her time and be patient, but when she goes into shut down mode it is hard. I have been wanting to just tell her how much I miss asking and knowing how her day went so bad recently just to show I have not given up on her.
