  • Why did someone pay more attention to me after he rejected me?*

I liked this guy since last year. We sat across from each other in the same table group in class for a while, but we didn't really talk much. This year, we share two classes, but our relationship still didn't progress. There have been awkward attempts initiated by me with a third party involved (like his friend who I am more familiar with), but all in all, let's just say that to him, I'm probably this weirdo girl who sits in front of him and is kinda smart.

Tbh, I have no idea why I like him? @-@ Probably dumb teenage infatuation. Since I couldn't get over him, I decided to confess. . . via a social media text.

I know. Best way to confess ever. It's my first time, so don't judge.

In return, he responded in a similar fashion: he freaking left me on read.

My first emotion was relief: "Great. Now that I know he's a douche. Time to get over him and focus on more important manners in my life."

However, it turned out that he just had relatives visiting and was busy. Darn, now I can't hate on him anymore. Instead, I was let down with a "I'm flattered, but I'm too busy." Too busy? Boi I'm taking more AP classes than you are AND extracurriculars in my life. If I can find the time to like you, and even like you enough to write up a whole forum topic about you, shouldn't you at least try to get to know me?

Psh. I'm too good for him anyways. I'm already on my way to moving on.

Well. . . That should have been the end to this story. But recently, idk if it's paranoia but I feel like he's been paying more attention to me than before...?

Guys. Please explain this odd behavior I am observing.

If you have observed him paying more attention to you, then it shows he's interested in you. However, I'll advice you don't do anything but allow him work to get you. You have already expressed your feelings to him, so let him reciprocate it by working to get you in his life.

I don't think he rejected you but only turned you down expecting you to chase him. Since you didn't chase him, he felt he was losing an opportunity hence he decided to begin giving you attention. Now, that he's beginning to show more interest in you, sit back and watch him do the work to get you.
